Offering high-quality fitness to the geek/nerd community in a welcoming and non-competitive environment.
We believe that all of us can be healthier surrounded by a community of like-minded people - this is true at the gym as in our lives. We saw too many of our friends and family lost at big warehouse gyms that provide no guidance for someone seeking fitness. We saw more who were intimidated by the exclusive, competitive atmosphere of many boutique training centers.
There was no good, safe place for us, for the geeks and nerds, to begin our fitness journey.
WE DECIDED TO CHANGE THAT.
WHAT WE OFFER
Strength, bodyweight and gymnastic training in a welcoming and fun space that focuses on collaboration toward your goals.
Small gym. Big results. To train here, you have to show up, be present and be available for new challenges and unexpected results.
All training at Nerdstrong Gym is programmed. Individuals work one–on–one with a coach or train with a group under the coach’s guidance. Training programs are designed to suit individuals or the community's goals.
A spirit and attitude that is forward-thinking and immensely positive. We are always evolving and growing our gym, our classes and our programming to keep in line with our ever-growing member base. It keeps us on our toes, but we're open to change and we would hope that you would join us on your next level of the fitness journey.
VALUES & CULTURE
What Nerdstrong means, to us:
Fitness for You
4 RULES OF NERDSTRONG
NOT THE FACE
Always be careful. Barbells, kettlebells, dumbells - gym equipment is heavy and dangerous. Stay focused and don't hurt yourself.
FITNESS IS NOT A COMPETITION
The only person you are competing with is the person you were yesterday. This is about your personal growth, and nothing else. The person next to you is on his or her own journey. We support each other and encourage each other, but we are not in competition with each other. The ultimate goal is to change your life while having fun. It's that simple.
Be aware of yourself and those around you. You’re lifting heavy, pointy tools; so are the people around you. Be aware of your surroundings, and take care of yourself and the whole Nerdstrong team.
BE THE HERO, but don't be a hero
Work hard and give your all, but if you need to pause to rest or step away, do so. You will never be judged for it. We’re all in different places in our fitness journey, and no one knows how your body feels but you. There’s no point in over-exerting yourself, pushing 'til you vomit, or pulling a muscle. If you over-extend yourself and have to sit out for days and days to recover, no one wins.
