It doesn’t matter if you’re an epic-level athletic hero, just starting out, or somewhere in the middle... at some point in your life, it’s likely you’ll deal with back pain.

This is because most normal everyday activities like binging Netflix, sitting for a six-hour D&D session, and especially desk work - affect your back and spine, potentially leading to strains, sprains, and cramps when we use them too much.

Use is a weird word in this context, right?

Sure, I use my muscles to lift weights, but I don’t use them to sit around playing video games. Right?

Actually, your chances of feeling back pain are worse if you spend most of your day sitting at a desk. Hunching over to look at a screen for a million hours before just switching over to your phone really does a number on your discs and vertebrae. You use your muscles when you’re hunched forward for extended periods of time. This pulls your back out of its natural alignment and causes a ton of stress on your spine. The most annoying thing about these sorts of back injuries is that they’re hard to detect and even harder to fix. 

When we work out we put lots of additional strain on our backs, that hard work combined with the unseen issues from daily sedentary activities can put us in a place for potential injury. 

That's why getting to know how to identify and heal these problems early is so important.

  • Work on recovery breathing positions and pain relief strategies that will help you get through tough workouts with less pain.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of back pain, and tools for assessing and improving any current back pain.
